From
Highway 160 in the town of
Fort Garland:
- Turn south on
Colorado
Highway
159
[approximately in the center of town]
|
- Go approximately 8 miles south
- Watch for a green gate on the south side of a small corral [west side of Highway 159].
- There is also a log home on the west side of the corral [not shown]. |

|
Entrance Gate from Highway 159 |

- The gate should
not be locked. [This
is a public, county
maintained road]
Be sure to leave the gate
the same way you found it.
If it was closed, please
close the gate behind you.
- The roads are
in good shape with some
grass growing in parts of
the road. If you wish, once
you own the property, you
can contact the Costilla
County Road Department to
have them grade the road.
One thing to keep in mind,
less traveled roads invite
fewer people to snoop around
your Colorado land.
- Follow the
roads as shown in the above
maps. The roads do not have
any road signs.
- The corners of
your land has been marked
with short metal rods (about
6 inches tall) with 3 foot
tall white plastic pipe on
top. Because of the elk and
deer that wonder across the
property, the white plastic
pipes may not be standing
up.
- Refer to the
maps above for specific
details.
