Perfect For
Camping ~ A Cabin
~ Your New Colorado Home
Recreation Headquarters
| |
|
|
 |
 |
|
Imagine
sitting
on your
deck
sipping
a drink,
watching
the
sunset
over the
Colorado
Rocky
Mountains.
The
views
are
simply
spectacular.
Then you
notice
several
deer
grazing
as an
American
Bald
Eagle
sours
overhead.
Earlier
that day
you
noticed
numerous
elk
tracks
on your
land.
They
must
have
passed
through
during
the
night.
You can
hardly
wait for
darkness. You
still
cannot
get over
how many
stars
are in
the
night
sky.
You
savor
the
peace
and
quiet,
smiling
to
yourself
as you
recall
the
hectic
pace of
life you
left
behind.
Now
this is
living!
The
air is
filled
with the
sweet
fragrances
of
alfalfa
in the
farm
fields
and sage
brush --
fresh,
mountain
air.
What
will you
do
tomorrow? Will
it
include
golf,
fishing
or
skiing? Perhaps
a
peaceful
day on
your
property
taking
in the
majestic
views
and
watching
the
wildlife.
This
is
Relaxation!
This is
the life!
You
wonder
to
yourself,
"Why
did I
wait so
long to
own
Colorado
property?" |

The Great Colorado Outdoors
However You
Seek Inspiration Colorado
Will Transform You
|
Golf
 |
At last count,
there are 3 golf
courses in the
area.
You will feel
like Hercules
when you tee
off. Due to
Colorado's thin
air, most people
are able to hit
the ball 10-15
percent farther.
Although keeping
your head down
might help your
game, be sure to
keep your eyes
open for
wildlife sharing
the course with
you. Geese, wild
turkeys, deer,
and elk enjoy
the greens and
fairways as
well. |
|
Fishing
 |
Birthplace of
of the
Rio Grande
Out here, you
can hear
yourself think.
Away from
everything,
anglers take
pleasure in the
abundance of
lakes and
rivers. Here you
will enjoy the
challenge of
catching a
variety of trout
and other
species of fish. |
|
Skiing
 |
As the premier
ski destination
in North
America, the 26
Colorado ski
areas boast the
best variety of
skiing and
ski-related
attractions on
the continent,
perhaps even the
globe. At the
first snow in
early fall, you
will start to
notice everyone
in Colorado
wearing a grin.
There is
something
magical about
the first
snowflakes. The
first snow
signals the
start of another
glorious winter
season full of
fun.
Winter in
Colorado often
means as much
fun in the sun
as in the snow.
After the snow
falls,
frequently the
sun is shining
the next day. So
what is it going
to be today,
skiing,
snowshoeing,
cross-country
skiing,
snowmobiling ...
or how about
building a
snowman?

Horseback Riding
 |
Horseback riding
is an idyllic
activity that
exemplifies both
the past and
present way of
life in the
American West.
To experience
Colorado's
ruggedness, you
may want to do a
little horseback
riding. Riding
is a great way
to access the
remoteness of
the backcountry
in the National
Forests.
If you don't
have your own
horses, don't
worry, there are
stables and
outfitters in
the area. |
|
Snowmobiling
 |
Combine the
thrill of a
high-speed ride
with the
beautiful
scenery of the
snowy mountain
environment and
you will
discover why
snowmobiling is
so popular in
Colorado. |
|
Biking
 |
The grandeur and
the elevation
create a
mountain biking
haven that
promises to
thrill both the
experienced and
the
inexperienced.
There are
miles of dirt
roads around
your Colorado
property. |
|
Trains
 |
At one time, the
boom of the
Colorado's
mining
communities
depended
entirely on
their access to
railroads.
Today, some of
theses same
communities use
the former
narrow-gauge
lines for
tourism.
There are
two (2) historic
trains in the
San Luis Valley.
In the
southwestern
part of the San
Luis Valley, the
Cumbres
& Toltec
Scenic Railroad
runs 64 scenic
miles from
Antonito,
Colorado to
Chama, New
Mexico. With 120
year old steam
engines, this
historic
narrow-gauge
train has
changed very
little from the
days of glory.
The second
train system
runs across the
San Luis Valley,
primarily from
Alamosa,
Colorado to La
Veta, Colorado.
This train
operates
throughout the
year, including
during the
beautiful winter
months.
They have many
special train
rides and events
along the route. |
|
Snowshoeing
 |
With more than 3
million acres of
public land, you
can find many
miles of
snowbound trails
and roads for
snowshoeing. |

Can you imagine how much fun it would be
to
spend the Holiday Seasons in Colorado? |
|
|
Have you ever cut your own Christmas tree? |
 |
|
When I was young growing up in the southern
Colorado mountains, each year my family and I went into a remote
forested area where we would cut our fresh Christmas Tree. We
always toped a very tall tree so that the tree would live on.
Once the perfect tree was located, I was given the task of
climbing the tall tree with a bow-saw in hand. It makes the
heart pump a little faster when the top of the tree falls after
cutting it and you are sitting there at the very top of a tall
tree with the view of an eagle.
These are memories I will never forget.
Neither will you and your children. |
