During the fall
season, especially
at dawn and dusk,
occasionally you
will hear the bull
elk bugling -
calling out for elk
cows. It is mating
season for elk and
deer in the Colorado
high country.
Listening to the
bugling is an
unforgettable
experience. |

Blanca Peak, part of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, is Colorado's 4th highest peak. The town of Blanca is between your property and the mountain.
The southwest corner marker is at the bottom of the photo.

Southeasterly view across your land looking at the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.
This huge mountain range with numerous 14,000 foot peaks stretches from near central Colorado down into New Mexico. |

Northeastern view across your Colorado land from the Southwest corner.
There are some low clouds hovering over the Sangre de Cristo mountains near La Veta Pass. Off in the distance you will barely be able to see the home and barns of a farmer.
You have lots of open space and clear views of the hills and mountains around this land. |

No Traffic
This is a shot looking down Twenty-fifth Street.
As you can see from the plants that are growing in the road, there are very few people who will disturb your peace and quiet.
The roads are county maintained. However, the county does not spend much time on roads that are not frequently traveled.
You can ask the county to grade the road. But then more people will drive on the road. |

Although
the
mountains
that
surround
the San
Luis
Valley
receive
a lot of
snow, on
average
your
mountain
valley
land
receives
less
than 25
inches
annually. That is less than what the Texas Panhandle receives. |

This is a
close view of the ancient volcanic rock in the hills south of your property a couple of miles. They were
formed millions of years ago
by lava flows. Some of the lava
stones are beautiful works
of art.

Wildlife Tracks
Everywhere |
The

an elk track.
It is very
common to see elk, deer,
antelope,
and other
animals on your property and in the area.

The Bald Eagles
are found
throughout the
San Luis Valley.
|

Prong Horned

the Valley.

|
|
The area
has two beautiful
hummingbird species, the
Broad-tailed (right) and the
Rufous (below-left).
These
amazing tiny birds that can fly like
a helicopter and grow to
only 3-4 inches in size.
During
the summer, you can
attract hummingbirds to your
property with a hummingbird
feeder like the ones shown
below. |

|
Chamisa Bush

|
|
|
During late summer and
early fall the Chamisa bush
is covered with small yellow
flowers.
Found on
your property and growing
all over the San Luis
Valley, the Chamisa bush, also known as
rabbit bush, is a colorful
addition to your property.
The bush can grow as
tall
as 3 feet, but is
usually shorter on your
property -- less than 18
inches.
There are many other plants
and flowers that grow
naturally on your property. |

Sage
Brush
 |
|
|
The air is also filled with
the wonderful aroma of sage.
Sage brush grows on your
land. This is one wildlife
attraction. Sage brush is a
source of food. Sage brush
also provides the numerous
rabbits a hiding place. |

During the
winter months,
especially after
a fresh
snowfall, the
elk will migrate
out of the
mountains into
the San Luis
Valley to graze
the easily
obtainable
grass. They also
love to eat
alfalfa in the
farm fields. |

Farming is the number one industry in the San Luis Valley. Here in the San Luis Valley you have the opportunity to experience true country living. There are much fewer tourists. No crowded resorts. Relax, enjoy a slower pace of life. |
